North Ryde runs FOXTEL Lap
I had one of my Personal Trainers (Robert Balcombe) conceive an idea where we could set up a satellite site for corporate and individuals to participate in the Foxtel Lap event even though logistically they could not get their staff into the City for a 1/2 hour slot.
We worked out how we could structure the event in Club ourselves, then took the idea to Foxtel. After a bit of twoing and throwing we were given the go ahead. As they had not thought of this avenue, they were keen to see how successful it would be and gauge if it might be something they could look at taking Nationally next year! I am pleased to say the day was an overwhelming success!
Bearing in mind that by the time it was given the go ahead it was only 10 days lead time, we were able to get and keep 5 treadmills going all day, with the support of companies such as Oracle, North Ryde RSL, Microsoft, Fitness First North Ryde and a heap of keen members on the day. Also there was a donation bucket on the day which raised $530 in gold coin donations! The online donations were $670, so we made $1200 in cash! But more than this we had easily the best member appreciation days that I have been involved in since being with Fitness First. We have also generated 12 new members and counting from the days participants (participants did not have to be members to compete).
I must give all the credit firstly to Rob Balcombe for putting together a fantastic day, and to all of the staff at Fitness First North Ryde. The energy, team spirit and sense of community was incredible.
