Gil Avenaim / NSW Sales Trainer

What does your role involve?
Training new MCs for the first 12 weeks of their sales career at FF (including MC Induction, and 6 and 12 week training sessions), and then coaching GMs, SMs and MCs as required.
What do you love about what you do?
It’s all about the people. I see new MCs join every month knowing nothing about we what do, and not long after, there they are succeeding in their clubs, selling, growing and enjoying what they do. It’s very rewarding.
What’s the worst thing about your work?
Have to admit I don’t like conference calls much. I get a lot more from ‘face to face’ but we need to do them to make sure all our MCs are settling in well. It’s also a good indicator from tone of voice that something’s not right and a chance spring into action, visit that MC, and do some coaching.
What do you do outside of work?
In winter, follow my beloved Rabbitohs (South Sydney). In summer it’s down the beach as often as I can and getting out & about. I also play touch footy but geez these pulled muscles every week are getting me down
LOL
What has been the highlight of your time at Fitness First?
My first induction, my first sales launch. my first Ozmo…all very memorable.
What’s your advice for someone considering a career in the fitness industry?
As a trainer, you have to be passionate. Whether it’s teaching sales or fitness, you have to love dealing with people and really want to see them succeed…. And you need lots and lots of patience!!!
