TLC for Kids Marawalk Event
WOW! What an awesome effort from Fitness First yesterday at the TLC for Kids ‘Marawalk’. The event raised a grand total of $236k for sick kids around Australia.
It was fabulous to see how as a team, all Fitness First Victorian clubs were represented during the event and a lot of fun was had for such a great cause.
For those who don’t know, over the 42km walk with an 8am start and finished around 5pm, two people from each club met the walking group at 2km intervals around the Marawalk track to pass the symbolic baton ‘giggle hammer’ from one club to the next. Each club walked their section of the course with volunteers, mothers of seriously ill children, and companies who had sponsored that specific km of the Marawalk.
It was very humbling to see the TLC team and especially the founder and CEO Tim in tears back at the 3AW studio when he realised what the grand total had crept up to.
He wanted to say a very big THANK YOU to Fitness First.
